Health Related Fitness

PS1: HEALTH RELATED FITNESS
The learner will be able to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.
  
PCII.HS.1.1 Assessment
The learner will be able to demonstrate accurate record keeping/charting in their pre and post fitness assessment.
  
PCII.HS.1.2 Flexibility
The learner will be able to describe the importance of flexibility as it relates to preventing injuries and maximizing strength.
  
PCII.HS.1.3 Strength and Endurance
The learner will be able to vary the principles of training during their strength program.
  
PCII.HS.1.4 Specificity
The learner will be able to identify the targeted muscle groups exercised by specific exercises.
  
PCII.HS.1.5 Nutrition
The learner will be able to describe and plan a diet utilizing proper nutrition and supplementation to optimize strength and endurance.
  
PCII.HS.1.6 Anabolic Steroids

PS2: MOVEMENT COMPETENCY
The learner will be able to demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
  
PS3: MOVEMENT CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES
The learner will be able to demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.
  
PCII.HS.3.1 Warm-Up and Cool-Down
The learner will be able to compare, contrast, and apply the purposes and techniques of the warm-up and cool-down.
  
PCII.HS.3.2 Personal Fitness Plan
The learner will be able to plan and implement a series of strength exercises based upon a preassessment and fitness goals.
  
PCII.HS.3.3 Technique
The learner will be able to demonstrate proper technique in executing various lifts and functional movement patterns.
  
PCII.HS.3.4 Specificity
The learner will be able to identify types of exercises to be performed which enhance the development of various muscle groups.

The learner will be able to identify the proper exercise progression in functional training.

The learner will be able to identify the correct weight loads, sets, and repetitions in various training programs.

The learner will be able to describe the effects of overtraining.

The learner will be able to describe and apply the concept of rest between workouts in order to maximize the effects of training.
  
PCII.HS.3.9 Proficiency

PS4 PERSONAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The learner will be able to exhibit responsible personal and responsible behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.
  
PCII.HS.4.1 Spotting Technique
The learner will be able to demonstrate the proper spotting techniques for various lifts and exercises.
  
PCII.HS.4.2 Etiquette
The learner will be able to know and demonstrate proper training etiquette associated with not providing distractions to others and area clean up.
  
PCII.HS.4.3 Fail in a Lift
The learner will be able to demonstrate the ability to safely "fail in a lift".
