PS1: HEALTH ENHANCING LEVEL OF FITNESS
The learner will be able to
achieve and maintain a health enhancing level of physical fitness.

BSII.HS.1.1 Assessment
The learner will be able to
participate in fitness assessments and developmentally appropriate health related fitness activities.

BSII.HS.1.2 Goals
The learner will be able to
use fitness assessment results to establish individual goals for all five health related fitness components.

BSII.HS.1.3 Personal Fitness Plan
The learner will be able to
develop a personal fitness plan designed to attain personal fitness goals.

BSII.HS.1.4 Implementation
The learner will be able to
implement a personal fitness plan and assess the outcomes following a period of training.

BSII.HS.3.1 Evaluate Personal Diet
The learner will be able to
evaluate their diet relative to their personal needs, dietary guidelines, and energy balance (caloric intake vs. energy expenditure) and designs a plan for improvement.

BSII.HS.3.2 Modify Diet
The learner will be able to
modify their personal diet relative to special needs (ie vegan diet, athletics, diabetes, food allergies).

BSII.HS.3.3 Weight Management Evaluation
The learner will be able to
analyze a variety of weight management plans for sound nutritional practices and their lifelong effects on health.

The learner will be able to

PS4 MOVEMENT COMPETENCY
The learner will be able to
demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.

PS5 MOVEMENT CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES
The learner will be able to
demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.

BSII.HS.5.1 Strength Technique
The learner will be able to
demonstrate proper technique in executing various lifts and aerobic movement patterns.

BSII.HS.5.2 Specificity
The learner will be able to
identify types of exercises to be performed to enhance the development of specific muscle groups.

BSII.HS.5.3 Intensity
The learner will be able to
identify and apply the correct weight loads, sets, and repetitions used in training programs designed for body toning.

BSII.HS.5.4 Aerobic Technique
The learner will be able to
demonstrate correct technique in the development and performance of aerobic routines.

apply and vary the concepts of overload, intensity, and progression while maintaining the target heart rate during exercise.

apply the FIT Principle during all aerobic activities which may include: walking, jogging, circuit and interval training, rope jumping, body toning, and
ply metric exercises.

The learner will be able to
develop a fitness and nutritional plan for maintaining ideal aerobic endurance, muscle strength, and body composition.

PS6 PERSONAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
The learner will be able to
exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.

BSII.HS.6.1 Spotting Techniques
The learner will be able to
demonstrate the proper spotting techniques for various lifts and exercises.
|
BSII.HS.6.2 Etiquette
The learner will be able to
know and demonstrate proper training etiquette associated with not providing distractions to others and area clean up.

BSII.HS.6.3 Warm Up and Cool Down
The learner will be able to
use the correct techniques of warm up and cool down.
