Mission Statement

The mission of the Curriculum and Instruction Division is to: Increase student learning through the development and implementation of a rigorous and relevant curriculum and identification of effective instructional resources and strategies that challenge all students to maximize their potential.

Mission Statement: Health Education

Cobb County Public School’s Health Education Program will ensure that each student will possess current knowledge, skills, and the self-esteem necessary to be a productive citizen and make personal responsible decisions to promote a healthy lifestyle. The student will actively engage in critical thinking skills through developmentally appropriate content.

The health and safety course provides a direct and factual approach to health education that is practical, personal, and positive.  Health topics include safety, drug education, nutrition, personal health, growth and development building self-esteem and relationship skills.  By acquiring the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to a healthful life, students learn to take responsibilities for their own health.

Comprehensive health education is designed to help the student learn about total health: physical, mental, and social wellbeing. The focus of these courses is on wellness and preventive health and safety measures. It encourages the student to learn, practice, and choose responsible health behaviors to improve and safeguard his/her health throughout life.
