Skills and Techniques

PS1:
The learner will be able to sing and play instruments, alone and with others, a varied repertoire of developmentally appropriate songs demonstrating an awareness of pitch, beat, dynamics, simple rhythmic patterns, and expressive qualities.
  
MUS.K.1.1 Voices
The learner will be able to use speaking, singing, whispering and calling voices.
  
MUS.K.1.2 Pitch
The learner will be able to perform simple sol-mi patterns.
  
MUS.K.1.3 Melody
The learner will be able to perform simple melodic patterns including high/low and upward/downward.

The learner will be able to demonstrate awareness of steady beat.

PS3:
The learner will be able to improvise songs, speech pieces and simple rhythmic accompaniments on pitched and unpitched instruments to accompany songs and play activities, as well as create text for songs using non-traditional symbols.
