| The mission of the Curriculum and Instruction Division is
to increase student learning through the development and implementation of a rigorous and relevant
curriculum and identification of effective instructional resources and strategies that challenge all
students to maximize their potential.
Social Studies Standards
are undergoing revision. This year is implementation of the
Georgia Performance standards in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade social
studies and American Government, Economics, US History, World
Geography, and World History in high school. Elementary social
studies, sociology, and psychology are still under QCC. The
areas under QCC use priority standards and will be marked as
3-star, 2-star, or 1-star standards. The majority of classroom
time is spent on the 3-star standards.
