PS1: HEALTH RELATED FITNESS
The learner will be able to
achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical fitness.

WTI.HS.1.1 Assessment
The learner will be able to
demonstrate accurate record keeping/charting in their pre and post fitness assessment.

WTI.HS.1.2 Flexibility
The learner will be able to
describe the importance of flexibility as it relates to preventing injuries and maximizing strength.

WTI.HS.1.3 Strength and Endurance
The learner will be able to
state and apply the principles of training necessary for the development of muscle strength and muscle endurance.

compare and contrast the purposes and techniques of the warm-up and cool-down.

WTI.HS.3.2 Technique
The learner will be able to
demonstrate proper lifting technique in executing various lifts.

WTI.HS.3.3 Exercise Specificity
The learner will be able to
identify types of exercises to be performed which enhance the development of specific muscle groups.

The learner will be able to
identify the correct weight load, sets, and repetitions based upon their preassessment and personal fitness goals.

describe the cause and effect of overtraining.

demonstrate the proper spotting techniques for various lifts and exercises.

know and demonstrate proper training etiquette associated with not providing distractions to others and area clean up.
