History

PS1: ORIGIN AND DEVELOPMENT
The learner will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the origin and development of selected track and field events.
  
TF.HS.1.1 Timeline
The learner will be able to develop a timeline of the history of Olympic running.
  
TF.HS.1.2 Country of Origin
The learner will be able to recall the country of origin of track and field.
  
TF.HS.1.3 Women's Competition
The learner will be able to identify the year women first competed in the modern Olympics.
  
TF.HS.1.4 Olympic Records
The learner will be able to identify the first individual to run a mile in under 4 minutes.

PS2: MOVEMENT CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES
The learner will be able to demonstrate an understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.

The learner will be able to know and apply the rules to all track and field events for false starts and throwing violations.

PS3 MOVEMENT COMPETENCY
The learner will be able to demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
  
TF.HS.3.1 Running: Block Alignment
The learner will be able to demonstrate the proper alignment and placement of blocks for bunch, medium, and elongated starts.
  
TF.HS.3.2 Running: Block Entry
The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate proper entry into the starting blocks.
  
TF.HS.3.3 Running: Technique
The learner will be able to describe and demonstrate correct techniques in each event using key critical elements for each skill.
