History

PS1: MOVEMENT CONCEPTS AND PRINCIPLES
The learner will be able to demonstrate understanding of movement concepts, principles, strategies, and tactics as they apply to the learning and performance of physical activities.
  
LS.HS.1.1 Origin
The learner will be able to compare and contrast the history of selected team sports.
  
LS.HS.1.2 Date Invented
The learner will be able to recall the year the sport was invented and identify the inventor of the sport.
  
LS.HS.1.3 Governing Agencies
The learner will be able to identify the national organizations that govern selected sports.

LS.HS.1.4 Rules
The learner will be able to know and apply the official rules of selected sports and games.

The learner will be able to identify and apply field/court markings for selected sports and games.

PS2: MOVEMENT COMPETENCY
The learner will be able to demonstrate competency in motor skills and movement patterns needed to perform a variety of physical activities.
  
LS.HS.2.1 Badminton
The learner will be able to demonstrate competency to serve, volley, smash and drop-shot a shuttle cock in badminton using the critical key elements for each skill during game play.
  
LS.HS.2.2 Tennis
The learner will be able to demonstrate competency to serve, use the forehand and backhand volley, and overhead lob in tennis using the critical key elements during game play.
  
LS.HS.2.3 Strategy
The learner will be able to use various offensive and defensive strategies related to court movement and shot placement during game play.
  
LS.HS.2.4 Active Participation
The learner will be able to actively engage in all practice and game activities.
  
LS.HS.2.5 Safety
The learner will be able to dress appropriately and safely in all practice and game settings.
  
LS.HS.2.6 Principles of Training

The learner will be able to exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects self and others in physical activity settings.

The learner will be able to demonstrate apply safe and appropriate care of equipment used in selected sports.
  
LS.HS.3.2 Sportsmanship
The learner will be able to demonstrate elements of fair play, honesty and ethical behavior during practice and in game play settings.
